Starting A Dog Walking Service: People want it now
Ever notice that the small print on those TV commercials for "blanket with arms" commericals and other "as seen on TV" type products says that shipping is "4 to 6" weeks (or longer)? Why is that? It should be more like 4 to 6 days (if not sooner).
What if those companies capitalized on the customer's excitement and created some type of referral promotion so that when the customer got the product, they were still so excited about it that they were somehow rewarded to go and tell all their friends?
But, no. They make you wait 4 to 6 weeks to get what you ordered. By then, you've maybe even forgotten you've even purchased it.
As someone who is starting (or currently runs) a dog walking service, remember that clients are often super excited to start using your company. They've decided on you for a reason and you should make the most of that excitement and enthusiasm. Give them what they need and think about how you can help them share their enthusiasm with others that they know that could be customers as well.
Don't make a new dog walking customer wait to get started. Or wait for a first consultation. Or wait to hear from you when they've contacted you.
When you're starting a new dog walking service, people want it now.
The people that get it NOW will probably be a loyal customer for a long time.
