Dog Walking Franchises: service, price, selection (boo-hiss)
Listening to the radio this morning, I heard two commercials for different auto dealerships almost back to back. And both said exactly the same thing. You should buy from them because they offer:
- The best customer service
- The best price
- And the largest selection
To that, I say "boo". I'm going to add a "hiss" to that, too.
Boo-Hiss because these ads are exactly the same. And so, they mean nothing to me. In fact, have you ever seen an auto dealership have anything other to say than those 3 things? (if so, please leave a comment below about who they are and where they're located - we'd love to check them out)
Boo-Hiss because "customer service" is completely subjective and doing it well is very much an art that I doubt many auto dealerships have down pat. And because "the best price" is a mystery number that no one really knows. And because "the largest selection" is relative. Unless you literally have the largest selection anywhere, that claim is not necessarily true.
So, with one simple and easy boo-hiss, we've pretty much wiped out all the reasons why these dealers say we should plunk down 20 or 30 or 40 grand (or more) with them.
Are you a dog walking franchisee or independent operator? Do you have a selling proposition like these dealers that can easily get a boo-hiss from your competitors or - worse - your potential customers? Might want to think about that.
